Toymate Penrith

On behalf of a friend: Every time I go into this store the staff are rude. Speaking to her like she is an idiot for asking them to check stock today. Today they had her bagging a heavy item with one hand whilst holding her baby. Other customers in the store offered to help & the lady standing by the door. This store needs a serious intervention on basic customer service skills. I’d take your business absolutely anywhere but this shop.

Bought a drone with a "0.3mpx video" for my kid. My kid plays with it then comes and tells me there is no camera. On the box it has a picture of the remote with a phone holder attached giving aswell as a a camera lens and it says 0.3mpx video. I spoke to a girl who was nice to deal with but she wasnt a manager or anything so not mad at her at all. I told them nicely i paid for a large drone with a camera, thats what i want. They did offer a refund but honestly its not good enough. I said no i paid for a drone with a camera and expect a drone with a camera. They gave me to option to waste more time, fuel and tolls to go to blacktown store and swap for one with a camera but to pay the difference. Personally i think if you are going to sell products with misleading information then be prepared to to go above and beyond by giving the consumer what he paid for. Not offer them to waste more time and fuel by coming back in to get a refund and then probably continue selling the same product to other people misleading them also. The day i bought it there were hardly and prices listed for products, i had to wait to ask a worker who was in a deep personal conversation on the phone instead of woeking. The other staff were nice but a bit clueless about what they sell but again they are just kids trying to make a living. Nothing against the staff but yeah management need to own up that they messed up and offer some compensation for wasting a customers time and fuel to come in again just to be refunded which isnt worth the time. Look not happy with that, i lodged a complaint with fair trading to see how that goes. But wouldnt shop here again, i think if they dont even know what they are selling then who knows what other toys they have that are misleading on the packaging. Just be weary and ask to open the box to check the product before buying if you dont have time to waste to go through the hassle of driving back to westfields find parking and all that just be refunded but not compensated for your time.

Recieved a pretty bad customer service from Toymate penrith store. Bought 2 toys and asked the staff at the counter to price match one of them with Target store, which was selling the same item for 30% less. The item i was after was in stock at target broadway and parramatta store. When i asked to price match she said that she can only price match with nearby stores i.e. she cant price match with stores that are far away. Is broadway sydney and parramatta that far away. According to toymates price match policy, they price match with any australian physical store. And when i stated that, The response from the store staff was quite shocking and rude as if i was begging for a discount. In front of all the other customers, she loudly says "have you read the whole store policy in the short time you were here!!!, do you want me to show you our policy"??? What was that...????. I told her boldly, yes please show me. She checked for sometime and then all of a sudden she says, ok i dont have time for this so i will price match it for you. By then she knew she was at wrong but her attitude was the same. I wanted to tell her that i do my homework well, and it would have better if she did too. Dear Toymate store, if you cant keep the promise to price match or cant seamlessly implement your own policies then dont do it. Dont take customers for granted. Also please train your staff to be polite to customers or atleast keep their manners. Anyway, i wouldnt recommend this store anymore, prices are high and poor customer service. Better shop at Target, kmart or somewhere else.

Love It!!! Love having an excuse to wander into toymate. The kids love it. I love their products, there is a lot more variety than other stores. Also it free to sign up for membership. 5% off is better than nothing especially at Christmas time. It would be so awesome if they could laybuy! Also you can purchase and get delivered on their website.
